FAQs

  • What the heck is this and how do I join?

As lifelong visual kei fans, we noticed something missing from the international visual kei community. Indestinct, almost ephemeral, the solution evaded us until it finally hit upon us one day in a parking lot in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In comes RarezHut. RarezHut is one of the first US-based used visual kei stores dedicated to serving the international VK community. We've been in operation since late-2013. While our webshop may have closed its doors in 2023, we continue to host our livestream auctions a few times each year. Event info and a full item list can be seen via the "Item Lists/Scheduled Bids" link up top. Once you've registered and logged into your account, you can also use this page to place any "scheduled bids" before the event. Scheduled bids aren't required and you can always place bids when the auction is live and the item you want is put up.

We generally start our auctions about 30-60 minutes before the scheduled time to let people show up and watch some concert footage or PVs while waiting for the event to start. We always announce when events are starting on our Discord server and social medias, so you can keep an eye there to know exactly when we go live. When an event is live, you can just come back to this site and click "View stream" to enter the event. If it's your first time joining us, you'll be greeted with a little tutorial showing how the whole bidding process works. Thanks for joining us!
  • How will I know what items will be for sale? What if I’m not online when the one I want appears?

For our auction events, you can view the list of items for upcoming auctions through the “Item Lists/Scheduled Bids” link at the top. From the item list, you can submit “scheduled bids” with the maximum amount you are willing to pay for specific items. A "scheduled bid" consists of your max bid, which will then be automatically bid in $1 increments up to your maximum. This is a good way to make sure you don’t miss out on any items if you’re not able to attend the event and bid in real-time.
  • Will shipping be expensive?

Our auction events generally last for two weekends, and we combine items from both into a single shipment (along with any held eBay or Discogs orders).
  • I don't live in the US, will international shipping be expensive?

In an effort to keep costs lower for our international customers, we are now utilizing Simple Export Rate shipping for all international packages up to 4 lbs. This service gives lower rates ($13-30 for Canada, $15-39 for all other countries) while still providing standard delivery times and full tracking in most countries. You can learn more about Simple Export Rate shipping here.
  • How do I pay for the items I’ve won?

Customers will be sent an invoice through PayPal within ten (10) days of the last day for auctions. Payment for the items is due within fourteen (14) days of the notification of invoice. Extension of payment deadline may be granted by emailing rarezhutshop@gmail.com.
  • Where are the items shipped from?

RarezHut is based in Oregon, USA, though we will gladly ship worldwide!
  • How are payments handled?

After the final day of the auction, you will receive an invoice via PayPal to the email address associated with the account with the shipping cost included. If your PayPal account email is different from your RarezHut Auctions account email, then please contact us so we can make a note in our records. If you would like to use Revolut or Wise then please email us at rarezhutshop@gmail.com so we can arrange the payment. If we don’t have your shipping address on file, then we will contact you about that as well.
  • What payment methods do you accept?

Currently we only accept PayPal, Revolut and Wise.
  • Is it possible to hold items after buying to be shipped together with a future purchase?

Sure thing! Just contact us at rarezhutshop@gmail.com if you want to hold items (from our eBay and Discogs stores for instance) and then again when you’re ready to ship everything out. We can coordinate with you to make sure everything goes smoothly.
  • What are the conditions of your items?

A large majority of our stock is purchased used, but is generally in really good condition. Many CDs come with the OBI strip and, in some instances, the cases are replaced if they were badly damaged during shipping. All used items are tested and confirmed as working before being listed. If you have any specific questions about the condition of an item, feel free to ask in the chat during the auction.
  • I would like to buy a cassette/VHS, but I have no way to play it... what can I do?

Analog media such as cassettes and VHS are a fading medium, and we understand that most people don't own the equipment to play these items. To help ease this, we can send digital copies of VHS and cassettes along with the items which were digitized using professional-quality hardware.
  • Do you accept exchanges/refunds?

All sales are final and items are sold as-is. We will work with you to the best of our ability should any issues arise.
  • Are these products legitimate?

We pride ourselves on our quality and integrity, and make sure that all of our products are genuine and not bootlegged.
  • Where can I contact you if I've got other questions?

You can contact us at rarezhutshop@gmail.com or by asking in our Discord server and we'll get back to you ASAP!
